Heroes

I was listening to the radio today and heard “Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury and thought of heroes.
We all have a hero. Someone we admire. Someone we look up to. I have a few of them. Most of us have a favorite superhero. Mine is Captain America. Now superheroes are not real but they give us a sense of adventure and a sense of security. So what does this have to do with the song I was listening to? A few of the lines reminded me of what a superhero would do:
“There’s no shadow You won’t light up

Mountain You won’t climb up

Coming after me

There’s no wall You won’t kick down

Lie You won’t tear down

Coming after me”
See superheroes will go to great lengths to rescue and help someone. This is what Jesus does for us. He should be our biggest hero. He suffered for us on the cross. He loves us. He would do anything for us. Just as the chorus in this song says,
“Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God

Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine

I couldn’t earn it, and I don’t deserve it, still, You give Yourself away

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God, yeah”
