I’m reading a great book series called “The Messengers”. I will post a review when I finish.

I looked up to the sky this evening and thought of this verse. It looks like the day and the night cloud as one.

“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night.”

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭13:21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Part 2

Sling and a Stone was designed from 1 Samuel 17:49-50, “David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone and slung it and struck the Philistine on his forehead…So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone.”

There is another stone that we read about that brings us to the love of Jesus and what He did for us. After the crucifixion, we read in Matthew 27:59, “And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock. And he rolled a great stone to the entrance of the tomb and went away.”, then Matthew 28:2 continues with this, “And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from Heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.”

He is Risen!!! Two stones, two different times years apart, Old Testament – New Testament, so much depth to them both. The first is the story of faith and the second is the story of love and eternal life.

Jesus is my Rock and my Savior.

Part 1

So in case you did not know, the Bible story of David and Goliath is one of my favorite stories. There is so much to this story. When I read it I see bravery – courage – guts. But I also see faith. Faith in God. No matter what lies before us, we have God in our corner. We all have a Goliath – depression, fear, illness, loneliness, feeling broken, hurt and more. But our faith in God is what allows us to face those things. I want to jump to the New Testament. Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” The outcome may not be what we hoped but we must rely on God to help us through and face those times.
